History runs deep here

Following the American Revolution, thousands of Loyalists, including 2,000 Black Loyalists, found refuge in the town of Shelburne and surrounding area. Shelburne's naturally deep harbour and central location meant that it quickly became a fishing and shipbuilding centre, as well as port of trade.

"We wish we had planned more time at The Coopers Inn in Shelburne! The MacLean room was lovely looking out towards the water. Amanda the host was friendly and helpful and prepared a nice hot breakfast. We highly recommend this B&B.
